Vintage Professional Mellophone

Professional Mellophone. It actually says Professional on the bell. No other brand marking and no serial numbers. Appears from late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Two tuning bits and two extra crooks. Primary tuning is in F. Play it like a french horn but fingerings are like a trumpet. I’ve played it a bunch in a small jazz band. In my head I sounded like Don Elliot.
Condition is quite good considering its age. I had it ultrasonically cleaned, all felts and cork replaced. No major dents. The silver plating has worn through in multiple areas. Also amazing are the valves. Still shiny and function well.
Comes with mouthpiece that is period perfect and fits this horn well.
Case is old, but still holds together and will get the horn to your next gig.
